Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Distributor Conference

Tuesday, April 08, 2008

SUWANEE, Ga. - April 8, 2008 - With an unprecedented number of distributors, manufacturer's representatives and employees attending, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division celebrated another record-breaking year at its annual Distributor Conference at the from February 26 to 29, 2008.

The conference provided Mitsubishi Electric HVAC the opportunity to showcase its capabilities and illustrate the tremendous opportunities that exist for ductless or ducted, zoned comfort control systems within the U.S. market.

"The theme of our conference this year was 'Kuleana,' which is Hawaiian for a personal sense of responsibility and accountability," says William Rau, senior vice president and general manager, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC. "We encouraged distributors to take control of their future by sharing in our vision and developing the necessary resources to take advantage of the opportunities for the split-ductless and VRFZ markets.  Our intent was to demonstrate to distributors how investing in the Mitsubishi Diamond Alliance™ will prepare them for significant growth."

During breaks, attendees were invited to stop by information stations where they could discuss projects, ideas and opportunities with various Mitsubishi Electric HVAC departments. To support the conference theme, the Hawaiian culture was integrated into daily sessions and the finale banquet. The cast of Ulalena, a Maui Theater production, performed select scenes that underscored "Kuleana," "Lokahi" (which means teamwork) and "Po'okela" (which means excellence).

On Thursday, February 28, John Vaci, AIA, architectural consultant, McGraw-Hill Construction, spoke to attendees about the role of architects and engineers in the construction market. Keven McCook, account manager, integrated solutions and consulting, McGraw-Hill Construction, spoke about the 2008 outlook for U.S. construction and the opportunities it provides for the split-ductless market.

The annual golf tournament scramble was played on Kapalau's picturesque Plantation Course. The eighth hole hosted a "closest to the pin" charity event, which raised $2,520 for the Children's Hospital of Atlanta.

The conference also served as a venue for Mitsubishi Electric HVAC to honor distributors and manufacturer's representatives whose performance exceeded expectations in 2007. The 2007 Manufacturer's Representative of the Year award went to McAllister & Associates, Inc., Altamonte Springs, Fla., acknowledging the company's overall growth in sales territory and commitment to the Mitsubishi Diamond Alliance™ program.

The Distributor of the Year award distinguishes exemplary sales, growth and overall effort with Mitsubishi Electric HVAC products. The 2007 United States Distributor of the Year was awarded to US Air Conditioning Distributors, City of Industry, Calif., and the International Distributor of the year award went to Mayoreo de Confort S.A de C.V., Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

"Having such great representatives and distributors who are committed to our products and proactively market them allows us to increase sales and continue as the leader in intelligent heating and air-conditioning technology," says Rau. "We look forward to many more successful years as business partners."
