Mitsusbishi Electric Entertains and Enlightens

SUWANEE, Ga. - February 5, 2008 -With more than 500 engineers, architects, mechanical contractors and press in attendance, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division showcased a variety of CITY MULTI® VRFZ (variable refrigerant flow zoning) building comfort solutions at the acclaimed Vento Trattoria restaurant in New York City's Greenwich Village on January 22, 2008.

"We organized The Transformation Has Begun - An Evening with CITY MULTI event because we wanted to show how CITY MULTI technology helped transform Vento from a 1880s meatpacking plant to an upscale Italian restaurant," says William Rau, senior vice president, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC. "With the large amount of guests in attendance, we were able to demonstrate the CITY MULTI VRFZ advantage and explain how it could benefit our guests' future projects."

Guests enjoyed cocktails, Italian specialties and desserts as they toured the three- story restaurant and nightclub. The first and second floors featured detailed information about the Vento installation and how CITY MULTI VRFZ technology was able to meet the building's exacting site and zoning restrictions. Level V, the nightclub on the basement level, displayed various CITY MULTI case studies. Mitsubishi Electric HVAC area managers were on hand to answer any questions and to discuss upcoming projects.

The event was widely attended by architects, engineers and mechanical contractors from New York as well as those attending the AHR Expo, sponsored by the American Society of Heating and Refrigeration Engineers. One attendee, Elizabeth Thomson, AIA, RIBA, said, "This is one of the best events I've been to in a long time. It truly surpassed my expectations. I am very interested in the CITY MULTI VRFZ technology and have several projects where I may be able to incorporate it."

According to Rau, even though the restaurant was filled almost to capacity and the temperature outside was typical for New York in January, everyone inside was comfortable. "Despite the large number of people and the changing heat load, the temperature was ideal all night, which further demonstrates the CITY MULTI VRFZ advantage."

CITY MULTI VRFZ systems by Mitsubishi Electric HVAC offer the ultimate in freedom and flexibility by ensuring total comfort for all occupants of any type of building. A variety of outdoor units, indoor units and controllers are available. With CITY MULTI VRFZ systems, the temperature in each zone is precisely controlled while operating at optimum energy-saving levels. All CITY MULTI VRFZ systems use environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant and can be managed through the CITY MULTI Controls Network (CMCN).
