Two New CITY MULTI Indoor Unit Styles Introduced

Monday, January 12, 2009

Suwanee, Ga. - January 12, 2009 - Adding to its already extensive line of CITY MULTI Variable Refrigerant Flow Zoning (VRFZ) cooling and heating products, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division, has introduced two new indoor unit styles.

"These new ducted indoor units make it even easier to apply our CITY MULTI systems in a variety of residential and commercial applications," says Joe Bush, CITY MULTI applications specialist, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC. "Both indoor units provide increased application flexibility: the PVFY unit allows for vertical installation, while the new PEFY unit features a small, compact size. Both are ideal for applications with tight clearances and adjustable static pressure settings provide precise airflow over a variety of installations."

According to Bush, the new PVFY-P**E00A vertical-concealed ducted indoor unit is available in seven different sizes with capacities from 1 to 4.5 tons and for total flexibility, can be installed vertically or horizontally. The unit features anti-corrosion plastic drain pans and a 1-inch-thick insulated cabinet. An industry exclusive, the Mitsubishi Electric HVAC PVFY vertical-concealed indoor unit is self-contained and does not require unit assembly in the field which makes installation of the unit a breeze. For increased application flexibility, the PVFY vertical unit can be used with other types of CITY MULTI indoor units on the same system, such as wall-mounted and ceiling-recessed, all of which can be connected to the same outdoor unit.

The new PEFY-P**NMSU-E low-profile ducted indoor unit is available in six sizes with a cooling capacity up to 2 tons and a height of just 7 7/8 inches, making it ideal for applications with limited space. The PEFY low-profile ducted unit emits just 22 dB(A) and is designed to fit above the ceiling. The unit also features a built-in condensate lift mechanism and increased external static pressure, compared to the previous PEFY low profile indoor unit. With brazed refrigerant connections and a filter for eliminating odor and allergens, the PEFY-NMSU offers superior performance. The PEFY is designed to be used with several types of CITY MULTI outdoor units.
