COMBINE EFFICIENCY OF WATER WITH
MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC HVAC
INVERTER TECHNOLOGY
Units tie into buildings' existing closed water loop systems
SUWANEE, Ga., January 2, 2008 - Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division, Suwanee, Ga., has introduced a new series of CITY MULTI water-source Variable Refrigerant Flow Zoning (VRFZ) units, available in either a heat-recovery unit or heat pump unit.
"The new WR2-Series heat recovery units and WY-Series heat pumps are designed for buildings with existing closed water loop systems," says Meredith Emmerich, manager of application support, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC. "The new W-Series can be installed inside, rather than outside a building. This series uses the efficiency of water as a heat exchange medium combined with Mitsubishi Electric HVAC's proprietary INVERTER-driven compressor, which effectively uses energy to provide optimum comfort in all connected zones."
The WR2-Series offers heat recovery and
can simultaneously cool and heat connected zones, while the
WY-Series is a heat pump model designed to work in either the
cooling or heating mode.
Zone cooling and heating is controlled by refrigerant piped between
the water source unit, a BC controller (WR2-Series) or header
(WY-Series) and the indoor units. The highly responsive
INVERTER-driven compressor by Mitsubishi Electric HVAC reacts to
the detection of subtle fluctuations in room and outdoor
temperatures and adjusts the system performance automatically to
maintain precise system capacity. By varying the refrigerant flow
to various indoor units, the capacity of the system matches the
indoor space load requirements while the INVERTER technology
ensures that only the minimal amount of capacity is distributed
overall for extremely effective energy usage. A variety of indoor
units and local controllers also are available to provide facility
occupants with precise control over indoor comfort.
WR2- and WY-Series systems can be operated and managed with the CITY MULTI Controls Network (CMCN), which offers a variety of tools and software applications to provide local and centralized control over a building's HVAC systems.
The WY-Series and WR2-Series units must be installed in a closed water loop system. Typical closed loop installations include a dry cooler, a closed cooling tower or an open cooling tower with a heat exchanger.
The W-Series units can be installed floor by floor inside a building, easily complementing existing closed water loop systems and offering a solution for building managers who need to install equipment indoors. Refrigerant, water and electrical connections on the top or left sides of the units allow side-by-side installations or stacking with the proper structural support.
The W-Series is available for order now. For more information about the entire line of CITY MULTI systems, please visit www.mehvac.com.
