New CITY MULTI® Centralized Controller

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

SUWANEE, Ga. - February 9, 2009 - Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division, has announced the arrival of the AG-150, the newest addition to its CITY MULTI Controls Network (CMCN). The AG-150 will be available in spring 2009.

Mitsubishi Electric HVAC's CITY MULTI system is the world's first and only energy saving simultaneous cooling and heating two-pipe system that allows every individual space to have its own personalized, zoned comfort system. All components of the CITY MULTI Variable Refridgerant Flow Zoning (VRFZ) system, including the outdoor units, Branch Circuit (BC) Controllers and indoor units, are integrated through the CMCN for precise temperature control for every zone.

"The new AG-150 can monitor and control up to 50 indoor units and features a color touch panel display and 9-inch, high-resolution, easy-to-use LCD screen," says Brent Johnson, senior controls engineer, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC. "This new controller also offers a wide range of energy saving fuctions such as seasonal scheduling and automatic switchover."

According to Johnson, the new controller allows end-users to schedule fan speed and airflow direction, which contribute to the HVAC system's energy effectiveness. In addition to these features, the AG-150 offers a built-in user-friendly HELP menu and is USB memory compatible, allowing for all CSV data to be extracted if needed. The AG-150 comes standard with a white faceplate; a black cover can be purchased separately. Both feature a flat back, allowing the device to be either surface- or recess-mounted.

The CMCN consists of remote controllers, centralized controllers, Building Management System (BMS) interfaces and integrated software that provide advanced, user-friendly control for all zones in a building. Control of the Mr. Slim® M-Series and P-Series systems can also be integrated into the CMCN. The Mr. Slim M-Series line of INVERTER-driven cooling-only and heat pump products provides end users with a lower energy cost operation and helps to improve the air quality inside homes. The M-Series also offers a variety of control settings, providing the flexibility to meet desired temperature conditioning in all climate types. Additionally, the M-Series' low sound ratings and powerful performance make the system truly unique.

The powerful flexibility of CMCN can be expanded to monitor and control other equipment in a building such as ventilation fans and lights through the Digital Input Digital Output (DIDO) and the Analog Input (AI) controllers.
