Mitsubishi Electric Enhances Service Department

Marks growth of technical service
department
SUWANEE, Ga., December 4, 2007 - Mitsubishi
Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division has improved the
efficiency of its service department operations and promoted Tony
Hayes to national service director.
"Tony has been instrumental in creating new, innovative ways to
streamline service and technical response to our customers," says
William Rau, senior vice president and general manager, Mitsubishi
Electric HVAC. "His leadership has helped expand the technical
service department and our ability to meet customers' needs. Just
this year, we will provide at least 4,000 customers with technical
service training education."
In his new position, Hayes is responsible for 12 area and regional
zone service managers. Hayes also is responsible for the four
Mitsubishi Electric HVAC training centers in Atlanta, Dallas,
Chicago and Irvine. His team conducts all of the service training
classes and oversees the training rooms and operating equipment.
Additionally, Hayes oversees three technical service advisors in
his department to manage all incoming calls.
According to Rau, Hayes has been integral in increasing the
productivity and efficiency of the service department. With four
training centers nationwide, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC has been able
to offer a variety of service training classes to promote
continuous education, rather than only troubleshooting issues once
they arise.
Another enhancement to the service department is the addition of
the Issue Tracking System (ITS), which monitors all of the
technical calls coming into the department. Because all callers now
receive a live answer, customers never have to worry about
receiving an automated response to their inquiries. Customers are
quoted a call-back time and a member of the service department
promptly returns the call. According to Hayes, the average
call-back time on most days is just 10 minutes or less.
Based out of Suwanee, Ga., Hayes first joined Mitsubishi Electric
HVAC as a regional service manager in February 2000. He was then
promoted to national service manager in 2004. Before joining the
company, Hayes worked in the HVAC industry for 14 years, first as a
field service manager for consumer and commercial electronics, and
later as a national service manager.
